Let me start out by saying this is for Information Purposes only, I had to “McGuiver” this "Machine", I just wanted to see what I could do with it....It is not a Review...I just had some spare time on my hands..
Ok, so I stripped down a very cheap Cosmetic Pen...Surprisingly the motor is pretty powerful, and doesn't overheat, so I sorted out some of the “build issues”, I also adapted the cartridge system, which is the cheapest version available...The carts are a few cents each, but, come spring loaded, and have a diaphragm, so no ink seepage...
The “speed” is controlled with an inline thumb wheel, it is a no give system, and tbh, this is a cosmetic pen, so you probs wouldn't notice if it had any give as the needle groupings are really tight...Light and comfortable to hold.
It runs pfg (perfectly fukn good) to be honest, I ran it with a 7-point needle, about a t3, and a 7-open, which is like a 3 mag..It is brutally hardhitting, but, for only a few bucks is fun to use....I wouldn't like to do a back piece, but, will could be uber-precise for really small detailed work...
It won’t replace any of my machines, but, as I said, these are very, very cheap.....and carts, are only a few cents, so, it might have some uses..I have thrown a few links up, the one in Red shows it running....Remember, this is for info only, any probs, Please PM me,Peace Y'all,P.
Yep, at 30 bucks, it might be worth it....I think it might be a "cog type" drive, but, it runs pretty smooth...I am going to try it with a conventional 5rl, cut to size, and inserted into the cart, similar to the "plunger" system...
Always wanted to play with one of these tried designing my own awhile back ran into all sorts of issues maybe finding one of these and tearing it apart will give me the answer I was looking for.

The needle configs are very tight, but, it lines effortlessly...If I can rig up a conventional needle, I will run it out....I will probs strip this at some time, just to get into the guts of it....Who knows, If I can get a maxon/mabuchi motor same size, and linked to the drive mech, then get it to accept the Cheyenne type adjustable grip and cart system it could turn out to be a fun winter project...
hey mech do you have any links to this model as the build of it looks fairly well made. would like to fiddle with one but have seen a lot of junk ones.
