My name is James and I've been tattooing since early '06 I've spent most of that time using my doorbells and the last few years using a janky cheap Chinese Rotary for shading and color. Quite honestly it works damn well so that, combined with my bosses complete switch to high end rotaries (to save his hands for a few more years) has piqued my interest in investing in some higher end rotaries. I picked up a Stigma Hyper V3 this past week and love it for shading and color. I can't get into it for lining as it just slows me down and I can pull cleaner, sharper lines with my Schrobritter Micro liner. I don't ever see a 100% switch but I do like having a broad assortment in my arsenal.

Right now I currently run:
Coils:
Schrobritter Micro Liner
Soba Pilot Shader (workhorse irons 2009)
Brass Monkey Irons Walker Liner and Shader (my boss is a machine builder that ironically is 100% rotary when he tattoos)
Marked for Lyfe shader (I almost never use)

Rotaries:
Stigma Hyper V3
The shitty Chinese rotary that actually works well that I mentioned before.
