So I thought maybe I'll try to make a machine myself..
This hasn't got further than the level of Prototype #1.. So I just call it that now.

In the vid it's running at about 6.5V or something..
3mm cam CNC cut.
12V Mabuchi RK 370
A little give on it as well.
Works really good for packing and blending colors.
It was fun as hell to build it! And I'll think I'll do a few more.

If you decide to make more and need someone to test it, I would be happy to. Looks cool. Reminds me a bit of the Japanese Wizard Rotary crossed with a special tech. It would be cool to see it when you finalize the design and clean up the edges.

Thanks.
Yes its a rough cut.
I am going to cut out a 4mm cam as well. I think that it will make a differnce.
The red silicone tube is connected at the back withan M4 and the needle bar is only a 20mm long round steel rod witha 3mm in diameter. So the red tube.. (huhuh.. red tube) is hollow in the middle. So that results in a very little whip plus a little give. I noticed that you can pull out the rod a millimeter or so to create a larger give.
This is in no way a finalized product. Just trying to make something and to continue to improve it as much as I can for as long as I can.
And I am going to make a few and ship them out to some of you to try them out.
All I ask for is an honest feedback.
I will make a new 4mm cam (or do anyone think of any other measurement, please let me know)
And also make another kind of binding posts. Those on it now are just some ebay shit. I want brass, fool.
Thanks for the possitive comments! :)
I would totaly rock this! I love the look of it. :);

I like that! looks realy nice

Did another one last night.
The idea now is that I want to ship this one to someone, let that person use it for some time, let that person ship it to another and so on..
Meanwhile give me all the feedback they can come up with!
This way I hope that I can continue to improve it until I feel its good enough to go to the next step...
Gonna get 4 more frames on Monday.

If anyone want to give it a try and help me out here, it would be much appreciated!

I like the idea of the silicone bar,it looks very promising..i like to give it a try.

Did these three.. updated with a clear silicone tube to prevent the arm from moving backwards due to the o-ring pulling force... or what to call it. you know what I mean.
Gonna ship two of them out today for a trial run..

Yeah nice solid looking Drive mechanism and motor housing.....The only "very" small issue I see at present is the Vice Clamp....Are you going to leave it as it is with the square edge pressing against the front of the tube, or is the edge being rounded..Square edges tend to crush disposables, and unless really tightened down a ss tube can slip and slide....Apart from that all looks cool..:)
Vinoshitto
03-22-2013, 01:33 PM
yes, the clamp is not shaped as it will be later on.
the whole machine is water cut right now. hence the gnarlyness..
Easier, faster and cheaper that way until I find the right measurements and what not.. Then I can cut them out in CNC to get it more proper.
John Dame and Serial1313.. test machines are in the post right now.
Give them a go and hit me back!
Thanks!

I got my machine today. It's very quiet & looks like it will have the give of a coil machine w/ the rubber on the armature bar. I had to tighten the screw that attaches the vise to the frame, so it might could use some Loctight on that screw. So far that is all the critique I have because I haven't used it yet.

Good you got it!! John Dame, yours should arrive soon enough. I posted them at the same time.
sent it to your studio address. didn't know the name on your studio so I wrote "Something something-tattoo" on the parcel.
The return address is only valid for the next 2-3 weeks, then I'm gonna relocate 800km..
I hate that vice screw. But it will have to do for now.
That's why we do this run. so I can adjust everything.
might need to file the corners of that drive arm close to the Cam. it chews off rubber bands.

talk to serial1313 or johndameart in a couple of weeks, see if they are willing to send you the one they got.

First Impression: Until I can try this beast out a little later today :)
1: Very Very Light, I put it on a SS Grip and couldn't even notice it was even their hardly, on a Disposable, It is still Very light.
Its almost about the Same weight as the Halo.
2: The Vibration Is not bad, it is Very Smooth.
3: The Vice Screw will need a concave in it to accommodate for Tubes, However, Im sure you knew that lol for the fact this is a Proto.
4: I really like the Give System you Did with the Almost All Rubber material Arm Bar, it has a lot of give if you pull the needle bar out slightly and less give when it is shorter.
5: The layout of it is tits. im not use to using clipcord anymore haha so im borrowing one from my co worker to try it. :)
I Do like how its on the side though so it keeps it out of the way
Also I would try to put some sort of return spring on it as well so it stays in the upright position, food for thought haha.

Somewhere in their may be a good area for a return spring, besides that, just seperating the clip cord connectors a weeeeeeee bit more :)
Besides that though, loving where its going!
EDIT
I Did Adjust the clipcord connectors and it seems to be a little bit better so the cord is snug and what not. but like a said, a weeeeeee bit and perfection on that part.

Okay so I got to do a little linework with it, and I must say, I love how this thing lines, the fact that you have that arm bar in that rubber material really helps make it a lot smoother. so far I dont see any changes except what I gave my opinion on above :) I want to try using it for color and black and grey and see how else this thing performs. :)

03-30-2013, 09:16 PM
Nice to hear that it works well for you!! :)
It seems to work well at smaller groupings. lined a chest/front shoulder today with a 0805rl, which is pretty small, and it put in them lines like a little marker!
the return spring can't be placed at the back area because of the screw in the back goes in too far for that.
So it have to be placet further to the front, or under the drive arm like the second circle you did.
johndameart
03-30-2013, 09:17 PM
yeah i was trying to find the best possible placement for it. and I actually ran a 9 round and it went in like butter lol
If you add a return spring you should make it clean and easy to remove. Im not a fan of them :)

agree, kinf like a neo tat or a swiss, easily removable.
Vinoshitto
03-31-2013, 02:24 PM
almost everything will be removable, so that people can use the machine how they see fit. upgade downgrade sidegrade..
the only thing I'm thinking about now is the material of the body. right now it's some aluminum, don't know the specific kind.
but later on I'm thinking Alu 7075.. or maybe brass..? as i think any non-metal material would be out of the question??..
what do you people think?
johndameart
03-31-2013, 02:39 PM
I would say keep more options, I love how light it is. However, I would also Do a Steel Version as well for those you like the heaviness such as with a liner. making a machine with more options will make it more accessible for more people in the sense that not evey one runs their machines the same. its nice having the different options for sure. :)

I really want to try this thing

7075 is overkill for our machines
6061 or 6061 is more then enough ;)
skinmech
05-10-2013, 05:49 AM
I would listen to Jack......And I wouldn't bother about a return spring...
johndameart
05-10-2013, 12:20 PM
I would just make the springs optional. i think cause the bar isnt metal, its a rubber based materiel, it seems to confuse me haha. besides that, i have loved it for lining. :) Machinoshitto get a hold of me!

I ran mine for a few weeks,(see review) and then posted it onto another Artist (also a member on here)....and both of us, honestly, can find nothing to moan about...It is a great Machine for B&G, and it will also line with smaller groupings 3-5's...This will be a very popular Machine....I know "Oskar" the Builder is working on a final build for the frame, and has taken all the points raised by "the testers" into consideration....His R&D would put some major Builders to shame, I am sure he will let everyone know the next stage..

Sounds awesome ant wait for the final product
johndameart
05-10-2013, 12:52 PM
yeah from just using this, the tester was a nice built machine, easy to use, and not to fancy with all the nonsense, its a very good idea, i was able to fly in a 9 round loose from kingpin with ease. I just cant wait to see whats next :)

Thank you all for the positive responses!
I know all this have come to a halt recently.. but I've just moved from one city to another and have been super busy with a lot of stuff. But now my workbench and computer is hooked up and I will do the "final" drawing to send to the CAD guy tonight or tomorrow.
I'll let you all know as soon as progress is done.
Take care ya'll :)
