Swiss cheese with a side of flag

So...I can be honest. When I get asked to do torn skin tattoos, I laugh a little inside my head then think "How can I make this look not-so-gay?" This client/friend of mine was flying overseas again for a few months duty and he didn't want to come back to finish this. He took more breaks towards the end versus his actual tattoo time...but this was all in one sitting. I need to round out the ribs more, fill in the white stars that are just skin tone, blend a few more things.

But for one sitting at 13 hours, this guy is a champ. And I think the skin thing came out not-so-gay.

Last I checked if I rip your flesh off your body in a random manner, the muscles will never flow with the cuts I make. I spent some time studying anatomy of the rib cage and it's muscle direction.

Thank you! I used a Neotat Vivace with a 15 curved mag for the entire tattoo. I used a coil for the lines with an 8 tight liner.
