    Rapier stroke options?

    Just picked these up.
got some questions on the rapier.
Is it a rapier II or just a 1?
There are 2 screw holes were the crank arm joins the motor. Is that for different strokes? It looks like it might change it a little.

I didn't really pay much attention to be honest.

Looks like the stroke on the rapier is currently about 4.5mm.

If it is one of the long stroke rapier 2's I would say it is 4.2mm , but the vice looks different than my rapiers, so maybe it is a first edition. Do you wanna get rid of it?

I've been told is a 1/2 hybrid and does have 2 stroke options just by moving one screw.
Must be something like 4.3 and 3.2.
    Seems pretty cool.
Dont think I'll be selling it..... well not yet anyway.

as far as i can see from the pics the back end can is the rapier1 with updated rca,the the front slider/chuck frame housing is a rapier1 the bottom crank shaft attacment is a newer rapier 2.
The original chuck/vice slider does not have a back hole in it-the screw went from the front end-the frame had a shorter front end-cary has used two different front front nuts -one looks like a lrage tophat the other is the contactscrew nut you would see on a fki coil machine. That looks like a aftermarket vise know like nedz sometimes use.
I have had a bunch of rapiers so this is based of this and talking to cary for a few hours.

Had chance to have a go with it over the weekend. Left it at it's longest setting, which is about 4.2mm.
My initial setup with a needlerunner on a 0.32 7rl bogged the motor down a bit and had to run it at about 8v, so I re-bent the needle a little less and it ran nice around 6.5-7v.
Have to say I was instantly impressed with how nicely it lined. I look forward to trying it on something bigger.

Cary has the TC crank on all of his rapier machines now. You can change the stroke yourself now by removing a screw i think. I paid for one a few days ago and i cant wait to get it but dont think it has shipped yet lol *edit* Oo it shipped and i get it tomorrow !! Sweeeeeeeeet

Great guy who will stop what he is doing to help you learn about his machines and answer any questions you have. His service is top of line and you cant beat it. Im sure his machine will beat all others as i went through many rotary machines, cant wait to try this one for lining, shade/blend. If it runs great they will be my everyday machines and i will not be spending almost double the price on another rotary ever again. I'm sticking with the pirate from here on out

Wonder if that's what it's got. It had recently been serviced by Cary and I can adjust it from 3.somthing to 4.2
