    dali portrait

    heres one I 've been working on , I struggle with hair on portraits anyone got any tips.?
    also has anyone any tips on what paper I should be using?
    this was done on the cheapest Tesco value printer paper.Idali.JPG really need to use something better.

    Hiya Tugg mate, get yourself back to tesco and buy a reeves cartridge paper sketch book, about £3.50 oop north, it is a vast improvement over printer paper. you will notice the difference instantly bud, great sketch by the way!

    Hi Casey ,tried my tescos and they don't do it , must be a northern thing like mushy peas.

    Not a fan of mushy peas Tugg brings me ferrets out int rash! This is the stuff, never use anything else for my pencil work https://www.craftyarts.co.uk/acatalo...x-9-16530.html suppose theres other makes just as good out there.

    Try this its very thick drawing paper and its tinted a bit if you want to add white highlights to the picture

    for pencil portrait hair advice , id put down the values in the hair and blend them nice and smooth, then remove graphite with a kneeded eraser and an electric eraser. then adjust the values of those leaving some light tone and some highlight. i let my erasers do a ton of the work in hair.
    heres a sample of some hair ive done with this method
