So I just got this today to use in a shop closer to home I have an Ems 400 I use at my primary shop.
I'm just wondering is this power supply any good or should I get rid of it before using it?

at that price you could purchase a critical cx-1 that comes with a 2 yr warranty and great customer service.
Why would you have paid 160 dollars for something,if you did not no if you really wanted it? Ones without volt meters are no good for rotarys as all motors run off different volts and the volts could be high and you would have no way of knowing the motor speed going on.Allthoe you could buy or make a volt meter for it but i think why you got the small one is to be mobile right?
But they are fine for coils as it lets you focus more on the sound and feel of the machine(which you can feel with the abar etc) instead of the volts.I have heard good things about these (that they are made for them by talon).

You're quite right slick, and if you're in for a Talon PS ,the one to go with is this http://www.ebay.com/itm/ORIGINAL-MIN...item5649b82d56
